The Principal Architecture Consultant is a highly skilled expert who identifies areas of improvement for clients with complex information technology environments.
This role guides and oversees the implementation strategies and solutions for all aspects of infrastructure and related technology components.
The Principal Architecture Consultant oversees the delivery of multi-technology consulting services to clients and takes ownership of the development of the architectural approach for more than one layer of a complex solution.
This role is responsible for reviewing the information technology infrastructure to identify areas of improvement.
Key responsibilities:Guides the development of a roadmap and business case based on the client’s requirements.Takes ownership of architecting next generation platforms based on capabilities.Guides change management strategies that enable the migration from current to future architectures.Takes responsibility for the roadmap of change programs designed to help the client’s organization transformation.Evaluates relevant information technology architecture in order to identify opportunities for improvement.Oversees the development of new and / or existing strategies and solutions.Guides and oversees continuous improvement of internal tools and methods.Guide the pre-sales process by translating opportunities into solutions.Oversees the sale of complex solutions and services.Takes ownership of the consulting engagements, to guide the roadmap and business case development for architecture services.May guide and mentor less experience consultants.Acts as subject matter expert by guiding internal stakeholders in the proposal development and other business development activities.Maintains subject matter expertise by researching the emerging enterprise architecture methodologies and the best practices associated with them.Oversees the development of new practices that differentiate, compliment, and augment the organization's existing offerings in the information technology infrastructure arena.Acts as a subject matter expert on multi-technology design best practices.Oversees the development of business plans for the organization’s consulting practices.
To thrive in this role, you need to have:In-depth knowledge and understanding of IT industry environment and business needs.Excellent understanding of multi-technology infrastructure design couple with strategic thinking ability.Knowledge on multi-technology infrastructure design best practice which enables them to act as trusted advisors to clients on optimal infrastructure designs.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.Extensive knowledge of systems, software and programing languages.Ability to focus on detail with an understanding of how it impacts the business strategicallyExcellent client service orientation.Ability to work in high-pressure situations.Ability to establish and manage processes and practices through collaboration and the understanding of business.Ability to contribute information on relevant vertical markets.Able to contribute to the improvement of internal effectiveness by contributing to the improvement of current methodologies, processes and tools.
Academic qualifications and certifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology and/or Business Management or a related field.Scaled Agile certification desirable.Relevant consulting and technical certifications preferred, for example TOGAF.
Required experience:Extended technical experience in a similar role within a large scale (preferably multi- national) technology services environment.Extended multi-technology infrastructure design experience.Extended subject matter expertise coupled with consulting and client engagement experience, demonstrating good experience in client needs assessment and change management.
