Principal Architect - Financial Services

If so, lets talk. **Your role and responsibilities** Lead the design and delivery of modern data platforms for financial institutions, ensuring alignment with industry regulations (e.g., BCBS 239, CCAR, SOX, SEC, GDPR). ●Architect cloud-native data lakes, warehouses, and real-time analytics pipelines on AWS, Azure, or GCP . ●Oversee the development of ETL/EL T pipelines for onboarding structured and unstructured data from legacy systems, core banking platforms, trading systems, and third-party providers. ● Develop and enforce architectural standards, security models (PII, CHS, customer data), lineage, and governance frameworks that meet financial industry compliance requirements. ●Support business outcome-focused use cases like risk management, regulatory reporting, fraud detection, customer 360, and front-office analytics. ●Provide strategic leadership to consulting teams, ensuring project excellence, stakeholder alignment, and business value realization As of April 2025, Hakkoda has been acquired by IBM and will be integrated in the IBM organization. This role can be performed from anywhere in the US **Required technical and professional expertise** "7+ years in related technical roles, 2+ years in leading the development of modern data architecture, preferably in a consulting or advisory capacity ●As a foundation, you must have extensive knowledge of operationalizing a data lake in a production environment. Experience designing and developing data warehouses (Teradata, Oracle Exadata, Netezza, SQL Server, Spark) ●Experience building ETL / EL T ingestion pipelines with tools like DataStage, Informatica,Matillion ●Ability to design & document how the above tools are scaled, sized, and deployed ●Experience in standing up a data lake/warehouse in a cloud environment is desirable. ●Experience designing for high-volume, regulated environments—such as capital markets, retail banking, or insurance—where auditability, data quality, and lineage are paramount. ●Familiarity with financial data domains like reference data, transactions, positions, accounts, KYC/AML, or regulatory reporting is a strong plus. ●Experience with business intelligence/data analytics ●Cloud experience on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP ●Ability to troubleshoot and solve development and operational bottlenecks ●Deep understanding of data security, including masking, tokenization, RBAC, and integration with IAM tools in cloud environments. ●Proven experience using SQL ●Proven experience using Python or Scala ●Advanced English" **Preferred technical and professional experience** Cloud experience on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
