Job Summary:
Alcon’s Digital Health Business Unit is seeking a Clinical Testing Lead to drive the development and validation of clinical workflows for ophthalmic surgical planning and operations. This role will be instrumental in defining system requirements and overseeing testing to ensure seamless integration into surgical environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in clinical workflows related to cataract and other ophthalmic surgeries, ensuring that our digital solutions align with real-world clinical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and optimization of clinical workflows for ophthalmic surgical planning and operations.Define and document system requirements based on clinical needs, regulatory requirements, and user feedback.Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Testing, Marketing, and Engineering to ensure alignment between product design and clinical usability.Develop and execute test plans to validate system performance, usability, and compliance with clinical standards.Collaborate with surgeons, ophthalmologists, and clinical staff to gather insights and refine surgical workflow integration.Conduct hands-on testing in simulated and real-world environments to ensure accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of digital health solutions.Provide clinical expertise in regulatory submissions, risk assessments, and usability studies.Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in digital ophthalmology solutions.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.Minimum of 8 years of experience in clinical workflows related to cataract surgery and other ophthalmic procedures.Strong knowledge of surgical planning, intraoperative workflows, and post-operative care in ophthalmology.Hands-on experience with system testing, validation, and regulatory compliance in a clinical setting.Ability to translate clinical requirements into technical specifications for engineering teams.Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.Preferred Qualifications:
Optometrist, ophthalmic technician, or other medical professional with hands-on surgical experience.Experience in medical device software development and regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485).Familiarity with digital health solutions, electronic medical records (EMR), and clinical decision support tools.ATTENTION: Current Alcon Employee/Contingent Worker
