Group Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) is a core part of the organisation, to ensure the assets perform their required function and allow Anglo American to meet its strategic, operational and compliance requirements.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Principal Process Plant to be to be the subject matter expert on improvement of Process Plant reliability and availability.
This role can be based in Chile (Santiago), Peru (Lima) or Brazil (Belo Horizonte) .There will be frequent travel required for this role.
Fluency in English is a requirement for this role.
Key role requirements:
Monitor the asset performance of process plant and understand the key reasons for underperformanceWork with site teams and reliability teams to ensure plans to improve process plants are soundMonitor the improvements and work with teams to recover from deviations to the planWork with Plant equipment OEM’s – crushers, screens, mills, gearboxes, motors, flotation equipment etc. to resolve any major reliability concerns and to understand the latest developments and engineering which could be applied to improve performance.Benchmark Plant performance within the Group as well as with other global operations.Support Anglo American and its businesses as the Functional Risk Authority (FRA) for the Safeguarding Standard (Doc # AATS001) (“the Standard”) by fulfilling the FRA’s responsibilities as detailed in Appendix D: Accountabilities Summary of the Standards Governance Framework.QualificationsFormal Qualifications
Required: An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline.
Desirable: A post graduate degree or diploma in a relevant technical discipline.
Technical skills / knowledge requirements:
A deep understanding of Process Plant with experience in Copper and Iron ore plants.An operational maintenance leadership background within Process Plants.Understanding of the engineering & maintenance value chain and its key driversExperience with major failure investigations,In addition to English proficiency, Portuguese and/or Spanish language skills would be highly advantageousPrevious experience as the custodian of process plant within a large, complex organisationProven ability to put relevant strategies and practices in place to improve reliability, quality, standardisation and effectiveness of master data, ideally within a resources environment.Proven ability to educate and coach colleagues on maintenance standards and practices.Understanding of Process Plant asset lifecycles and demonstrated ability to manage effectively.Additional InformationWho We Are
