Community Operations' mission is to earn the trust of the community by amplifying their voice, transforming it into actionable insights, and building solutions that empower Amazonians to innovate on behalf of our customers. The Community Experience team builds programs and solutions that power this mission by identifying, analyzing, and resolving community-facing challenges across Amazon's operations.
We're seeking an experienced Principal Program Manager to lead Amazon's Community Operations expansion into new countries and regions, with initial focus on Australia, Japan, and Brazil. This strategic role will shape and execute the vision for launching and scaling our Community Operations presence across these key markets, impacting millions of community members and driving significant business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Leadership
• Drive end-to-end strategy and execution for launching Community Operations in new geographies, including market assessment, resource planning, and operational readiness
• Lead transformation programs that fundamentally change how Amazon’s approaches community strategies considering unique regulatory environments, cultural nuances, and operational requirements
• Create innovative solutions for market-specific challenges that can be scaled globally
Program Development & Execution:
• Create and implement mechanisms to track and manage roadmaps across supported geographies
• Oversee the development and adaptation of Community Operations programs to address geo-specific challenges
• Design scalable operational frameworks and playbooks that can be leveraged across different regions
Stakeholder Management & Influence:
• Serve as the principal thought leader for Community Operations expansion, influencing VP and Director-level decisions
• Partner with teams across Amazon (Retail, Prime, Operations, Legal, Finance) to align Community Operations strategy with overall business direction
• Guide and influence country leaders on expansion strategy, operational requirements, and resource planning
• Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with key stakeholders in target markets
Business Impact & Operations:
• Own resource allocation and strategic planning for 2026 target geographies
• Develop comprehensive reporting mechanisms to track program health and impact across regions
• Create new operational methodologies that become best practices across Amazon
• Mentor and develop program managers and business leaders across multiple geographies
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in program or project management
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience working with, presenting to and influencing senior executives up to VP level
- Track record of driving large-scale international expansion initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Prior experience working in APAC and/or LATAM regions
