Pricing Excellence Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE: 


In this role, the Pricing Excellence Manager will play a crucial role in setting and managing pricing strategies and to optimize margins while navigating the complexities of the cost drivers including raw materials such as cocoa, sugar and other key commodities.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

 

•    Develop and implement regional pricing strategies for chocolate & similar products that align with the company's overall business objectives and market conditions 
•    Establish & analyze market trends and competitor pricing and its conclusion, including guidance on pricing decision 
•    Responsible for margin optimization; understanding of underlying raw materials including cocoa and other costs, to drive a value based and forward looking pricing approach and ensuring sustainable margins 
•    Cross functional collaboration with various other departments such as Commercial and Marketing to ensure pricing strategies are effectively communicated & executed 
•    Conduct regular analysis of the margin landscape and anticipate price fluctuations especially on underlying raw materials and its potential impact on chocolate pricing 
•    Evaluate demand situation and elasticity to adjust pricing strategies dynamically 
•    Act as a key stakeholder within various In house / pricing & other projects 
•    Understand the nuances of pricing chocolate products in different regions, considering factors such as local competition, consumer behavior and regulatory environments 
•    Develop pricing models that accommodate currency fluctuations and other economic factors on a global scale 
•    Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of pricing strategies and adjust as needed based on market feedback and performance data 
•    Run monthly meetings to discuss Pricing changes and strategies per Business Unit or Country Cluster


EDUCATION, LANGUAGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS


•    A relevant degree such as Bachelor’s of Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Business Administration 
•    Min 5 years of experience in a similar scope / position with global responsibility 
•    Proficiency in Excel, statistical methods is a plus, advanced Microsoft Office suite 
•    Analytical skills 
•    Translate business needs into effective solutions and processes 
•    Ability to decomplexify and be pragmatic 
•    Able to perform under pressure 
•    Self-organized, able to prioritize work 
•    Team player – willing to contribute to the bigger picture 
•    Energetic & perseverance 
•    Strong communication & interpersonal skills 
•    English business proficiency (written and spoken) 
•    Strong ability to analyze market data, pricing trends, and financial metrics 
•    Ability to negotiate internally, land project ideas and effect changes within Pricing Strategy 


ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE / TECHNICAL OR FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES


•    Certification in PowerBI or similar BI tools is considered a plus 
•    In-depth understanding of B2B companies with the chocolate & cocoa industry and the supply chain, including knowledge of the terminal market, FX, considered a plus

•    Salary Range of $98,000 - $118,000, plus bonus and our comprehensive benefits package
