Your role and responsibilitiesThe Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing and implementing pricing strategies that optimize profitability and enhance market competitiveness for ABB. This role involves conducting thorough market research and data analysis to forecast pricing trends and customer demand. The Pricing Analyst will analyze competitors' pricing models and market positioning to identify opportunities and threats, ensuring that the ABB’s pricing remains attractive while maximizing profit margins.The ideal candidate would be able to work a hybrid schedule out of the Memphis, TN office.This role is contributing to the Electrification Installation Products division.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tCollect and Analyze Pricing Data from Various Sources: Collect pricing data from internal databases, competitor websites, market research reports, and industry publications. Employ data analytics tools to analyze and interpret this pricing information, identifying trends and irregularities. Evaluate the reliability and relevance of data sources to ensure the accuracy of pricing insights.•\tMonitor and Update Commercial Pricing Structures: Consistently assess current pricing models to ensure they align with market conditions and business goals. Make adjustments to pricing structures based on data analysis, market trends, and input from sales teams. Ensure effective communication of pricing updates across all departments.•\tPredict and Track Market Trends: Leverage market research and data analysis to anticipate future pricing trends and customer demand. Keep abreast of economic indicators, regulatory updates, and technological developments that could influence pricing. Proactively modify pricing strategies in response to anticipated market changes to ensure competitiveness.•\tConduct Competitive Analysis: Examine competitors' pricing structures, product ranges, and market positioning to uncover their strengths and weaknesses. Compare pricing with competitors to maintain competitiveness while optimizing profit margins. Employ tools and methodologies to assess competitor strategies and market share•\tProvide Pricing Recommendations to Maximize Profit Margins: Create pricing strategies that enhance profit margins while still appealing to customers. Utilize financial modeling to evaluate the effects of various pricing scenarios on revenue and profitability. Provide data-driven recommendations to senior management for their review and implementation.•\tGenerate Pricing Reports and Present Findings to Management: Generate detailed pricing reports that encapsulate findings, trends, and recommendations. Employ visual tools, such as charts and graphs, to clearly convey complex data to stakeholders. Arrange regular presentations for management to review pricing performance and discuss strategic adjustments.•\tMaintain Up-to-Date Knowledge of Industry Trends and Competitor Pricing: Participate in ongoing learning through industry conferences, webinars, and professional networks. Review industry publications and reports to remain updated on emerging trends and best practices. Consistently refresh internal databases with the most recent competitor pricing and market insights.
Qualifications for the roleBachelor’s degree and 5+ years of applicable experience. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
