Preventative Maintenance Mechanic - Mining

You’re a skilled Preventative Maintenance Mechanic who takes pride in keeping mining equipment running safely and efficiently. You understand the importance of routine maintenance and inspections, and you’re confident operating service trucks and managing essential supplies. You work closely with mechanics and production teams to coordinate service activities, and you’re always ready to lend a hand with repairs. Safety is your top priority, and you lead by example—ensuring compliance with all safety standards while maintaining a strong focus on productivity. You’re driven, dependable, and always looking for ways to grow your skills and contribute to the success of the team.

Essential Responsibilities:

Conduct routine preventative maintenance on heavy machinery at a surface mining site

Perform equipment inspections, document necessary repairs, and assist in scheduling maintenance

Safely and efficiently operate a fuel/service truck

Help manage inventory of service kits, lubricants, oils, and other essential supplies

Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to coordinate service activities

Provide support to mechanics during equipment repairs

Communicate clearly and professionally with team members

Promote a culture of safety and productivity by adhering to all company, client, and regulatory safety standards

Qualifications:

Minimum of one year of experience in heavy equipment maintenance

Familiarity with servicing and parts for Caterpillar, Hitachi, and Komatsu machinery

Valid drivers license

MSHA Part 48 certification for metal/nonmetal mining (training available if certification needs to be obtained or renewed)

Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

Work Conditions:

Overtime availability required
