Job Overview
The Pressure Control Equipment (PCE) Specialist is responsible for the certification, inspection, maintenance, and functional testing of 10,000 psi-rated (10K) pressure control tools. This role ensures that all equipment complies with company, industry, and regulatory standards and is fully operational and rig-ready prior to dispatch.
Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance, inspection, and pressure testing on all 10K-rated pressure control equipment, including but not limited to: Blowout Preventers (BOPs) Lubricators Grease heads Wireline valves Flow control components Ensure all tools meet certification requirements (API, ISO, etc.) and maintain proper documentation for audits and traceability. Troubleshoot equipment failures and conduct repairs or coordinate with engineering for specialized fixes. Conduct hydrostatic and function testing using calibrated equipment to verify integrity and performance. Maintain accurate records of equipment history, maintenance logs, test results, and certifications. Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to prioritize and prepare equipment for mobilization. Tag and isolate non-conforming equipment and initiate corrective action per QA/QC procedures. Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing training programs. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment in the yard and workshop.
Skills:
Pressure Testing & Certification – Skilled in hydrostatic testing and certifying 10K pressure control equipment per industry standards (API, ISO, NACE). Mechanical & Hydraulic Troubleshooting – Strong ability to diagnose and repair mechanical or hydraulic issues in PCE components like BOPs, wireline valves, and lubricators. Technical Documentation & Reporting – Accurate in maintaining equipment records, test logs, and certification documentation for audits and compliance. Safety & QA/QC Compliance – Knowledge of HSE standards and QA/QC procedures to ensure all equipment meets operational and regulatory readiness. Tool Readiness & Rig Prep Coordination – Experience in preparing, inspecting, and organizing tools for deployment to rig sites, ensuring all equipment is rig-ready.Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in engineering Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCE tools#LI-MD1
