Precision Resource seeks a Supervisor for our Press Set-up and Operating Team to join our well-established Vernon Hills, Illinois manufacturing division. We're approximately 30 miles north of Chicago and 30 miles south of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Summary
Oversee the Pressroom team’s safety, product quality and production levels to assure company standards and goals are achieved.
Essential Duties
+ Supervise all hydraulic and mechanical conventional press team’s manufacturing activities.
+ Attend production meetings. Schedule, prioritize and coordinate all pressroom activities to fulfill sales orders on time with high quality parts.
+ Coordinate support functions and remove obstacles to ensure continuous press operation.
+ Audit standard work and ensure corrective actions are followed through to completion.
+ Monitor pressroom product quality and coordinate resources to resolve issues.
+ Study production efficiency reports and implement corrective actions. Share daily performance reports with employees to promote participation in optimization efforts.
+ Work closely with Toolroom and Engineering Departments to prioritize and troubleshoot tooling needs, oversee new tool trials, document and provide feedback on tool performance, adjustments, and press parameters.
+ Train and monitor employee ERP usage for accurate production and timekeeping data.
+ Collaborate daily with 2nd shift Pressroom Lead.
+ Ensure effective employee relations and resolve issues timely.
+ Coach, give constructive feedback, identify training needs and facilitate skill development.
+ Prepare and conduct constructive employee performance evaluations.
+ Participate in continuous improvement efforts to optimize press team’s performance
+ Ensure continuous Safety compliance including but not limited to housekeeping at all times.
Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent plus at least 2 years' experience set-up and operation of conventional presses. Technical school ideal.
+ Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods and systems.
+ Hydraulics knowledge ideal.
+ Some lead experience ideal or proven potential and desire for leading production teams.
+ Knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations.
+ Strong math, blueprint reading, and use of inspection tool abilities.
+ Working knowledge of basic metal forming processes, and ideally machine shop theory.
+ Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
+ Approachable with strong communication skills, especially listening, understanding, interpreting and explaining technical information. Able to read and write English. Bilingual Spanish ideal.
+ Energy to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
+ Knowledge of ISO 9001
+ Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
+ Experience with ERP systems and basic Word, Excel and Outlook.
+ Self-motivated and humble but confident, with a desire to learn and continuously improve performance.
+ Achieve goals at $25-$35 hourly plus bonus potential and annual pay increases.
