Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Press Operator for its Natchitoches Engineered Wood Products (EWP) manufacturing facility located in Natchitoches, LA. The Press Operator will manufacture laminated veneer lumber, keep the Press running consistently, and assure quality of the product. The wage for this role is $25.97 per hour. *KEY FUNCTIONS:* * Monitor the operation of the Press, the quality of the veneer being processed, and check for pitch, bark, broken corners, and split sheets according to specific instructions. * Remove unusable veneer sheets, placing salvageable veneer into a reclaim cart. * Watch the press by observing monitors, cameras, and observing exactly what is being processed into the press. Monitor bays, including infeed lines and the layup sections. * Essential to straighten sheets, realigning them to ensure acceptable pattern as veneer sheet becomes jammed or crooked. * Occasionally use a roller to spread glue on sheets of veneer. * Perform clean-up activities by shutting down the machine on designated days, locking out, cleaning up glue, using steam and air lines. * Communicate effectively with Billet Tender regarding quality issues. * Must be a self-starter, capable of performing in a team environment. * Other duties as assigned. * High school diploma/GED. * Minimum of 2 years of experience in a wood products manufacturing facility. * A current resume or detailed education and work history is required for consideration; * Must exhibit the ability to lead and promote a pro-active safety culture; * Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and holidays as operating conditions require. *About Wood Products* We've been delivering quality building products and solutions to our customers for more than 100 years.
