Press Machine Operator

Job Description:

Location: Portland, Maine

CoWorx Staffing Services is now hiring a Press Machine Operator to join our 2nd shift team. In this role, you will support the pressroom by preparing and delivering roll stock and ink to press operators. This position is critical to ensuring efficient production by maintaining inventory, mixing ink, and keeping work areas clean and organized.

Responsibilities:

Read job tickets and labels to determine required materials.
Verify availability of stock for upcoming jobs.
Transport roll stock to the press using a forklift or C-clamp truck.
Prepare roll stock: open rolls, remove plugs, and organize by color.
Deliver ink to presses, ensuring correct color and quantity.
Mix ink accurately using PMS color charts and job specifications.
Track materials, job usage, and inventory using a barcode system.
Weigh and return unused materials and handle damaged goods properly.
Perform basic forklift maintenance (e.g., battery changes, adding water).
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Assist with receiving new stock as needed.

Desired Background/Skills:

Experience mixing ink using PMS charts and formulas.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Familiarity with barcode systems for tracking and inventory.
Basic mechanical skills for light equipment maintenance.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Job Posting: Press operator (2nd Shift)
Location: Portland, ME
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM (10–12 hour shifts)
Pay Rate: $19.00–$20.00/hour
