JOB SUMMARY: The President and General Manager directs and manages activities of Fairweather to achieve efficient, cost-effective remote service operations and is responsible for the attainment of financial and Doyon shareholder hire goals as established by the chief operating officer and approved by the Doyon Oilfield Services Pillar Board. Responsibilities Key responsibilities include: Lead and develop an engaged and productive workforce that is focused on safety, operational efficiency, risk mitigation, service quality, financial results and shareholder hire. Lead by demonstrating ethical standards, respectability, capability, dependability, and a team player. Manage all aspects of the operations to achieve financial results and goals. Protect the Company's interests by managing and mitigating risk. Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with customers, teaming partners and subcontractors. Develop high level business partnerships, evidencing confidence, business acumen, negotiations skill, and interpersonal communications skills. Achieve strategic objectives by aligning core functions and operations Promote a safe working environment at all times. Facilitate and encourage continual improvements in all business and operational processes. Uphold a high standard for service quality Review and investigate concerns and take necessary corrective action steps when needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide leadership and vision to the organization by supporting and directing managers and staff in achieving company’s vision, mission, and core values Develop an experienced and competent leadership team Optimize company performance by further developing core business functions, including finance/accounting, HR, risk management; etc Accomplish company goals and objectives by establishing plans, budgets, allocating resources, reviewing progress, and making mid-course corrections Support and participate in corporate strategic planning. Seek and foster strategic growth opportunities Develop and prepare annual operating plan to achieve goals approved by DOFS Pillar board Prepare annual operating and capital budgets that align with ensuring performance and corporate strategic goals. Provide oversight and demonstrates commitment to building and maintaining a strong performance management program that positively impacts operational effectiveness, cost-savings, and customer satisfaction. Upholds and promotes Doyon shareholder hire, training & development, mentorship and recruitment. Upholds company brand and reputation Responsible for management of policies/procedures (e.g., discrimination, safety, environmental etc.) Ensure that the Health, Safety and Environmental Management System is in full compliance Reports quarterly financials, operational results, shareholder hire statistics, and safety performance to the Doyon Oil Field Pillar board Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the chief operating officer SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages subordinate managers who supervise Fairweather employees, responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems and discharging employees. Must be able to work with employees at all levels to foster motivation, pride, esprit d' corps and resolve issues and problems. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: Technical expertise and knowledge in industry practices, products, and services Ability to analyze industry trends to make decisions which enables company to remain competitive Possess strong leadership, motivation, managerial and decision-making skills Experience developing and implementing business plans and goals Demonstrated fluency in budgeting, forecasting, and planning Possess excellent communication and negotiation skills Problem analysis and problem resolution skills High degree of computer proficiency REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 15 years of senior level management experience, of which 10 years are in the oil support services industry in Alaska. A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field can substitute for five of the 15 years Bachelors degree preferred PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with an Alaska native board of directors (Preferred) Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures (Preferred) WORKING CONDITIONS The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing less than forty pounds. Travel up to 20% required. WORKING ENVIRONMENT Most of the work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
