This is a management level position.
Key Responsibilities: Supervision and Support: Assist in supervising staff, including teachers, and support staff. Provide guidance and support to staff, including new hires and substitutes. Assist with staff training, development, and evaluation. Maintain a positive and supportive work environment.
Program Implementation and Compliance: Assist in developing and implementing program policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations and licensing requirements. Monitor classrooms for compliance with safety standards and regulations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including child and staff records.
Communication and Parent/Community Engagement:Maintain open and effective communication with parents, staff, and other stakeholders.
Assist in organizing parent-teacher conferences, workshops, and other events.
Represent the childcare center in a positive and professional manner.
Daily Operations: Assist in the daily operation of the childcare center, including managing schedules, activities, and transitions. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment.
Curriculum and Instruction: Assist in the development and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum and activities. Support classroom teachers in their instructional activities. Observe and assess children's development and progress.
Other Duties: Assist with staff recruitment and hiring. Assist with budget management. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills: Education and Experience: Relevant experience in early childhood education or child care. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Knowledge of child development principles and best practices. Knowledge of child care laws and regulations. Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in stressful situations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. First Aid and CPR certification.
