St. Paul’s Assisted Living in South Bend is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary services team. The Prep Cook supports the kitchen by preparing ingredients and assisting with basic food preparation to ensure residents receive nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented meals in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items according to recipes and menu requirementsAssist cooks and chefs in preparing and plating meals for residentsMaintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, prep areas, and equipmentProperly label and store food items to ensure freshness and prevent cross-contaminationFollow all food safety regulations and company policiesHelp with receiving and storing deliveries and rotating stockWork collaboratively with the dietary team to ensure efficient kitchen operationsPerform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by the Chef or Food Service ManagerQualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious experience in a kitchen or food service setting strongly preferredKnowledge of basic food preparation and kitchen safety proceduresAbility to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a teamStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing prioritiesMust be dependable, punctual, and professional in demeanorServSafe certification is a plusWork Environment:
