Position Purpose:

The Practice Manager oversees the day-to-day operations in two or more practice locations with multiple physicians or one practice with six or more physicians.  Assures medical equipment and other physical properties are maintained and are in good operational condition and effectively plans and directs practice operations by coordinating business office and clinical activities to achieve high quality patient care and satisfaction, maximum expense control and productivity of staff and physicians.

What You Will Do:

Responsible for two or more practice locations or six or more physicians in a high volume  practice.Prepares and institutes policies and procedures in such areas as scheduling, registration, billing and collections: oversees adherence to these policies and procedures.Coordinates office processes related to billing with the Central Billing Office.Maintains time cards and processes payroll accurately and timely to Mount Carmel Medical Group.Maintains open communication with hospital departments, referring physicians, staff physicians and employees.Conducts regular meetings; runs monthly administrative, staff and physician meetings.Monitors physician productivity and help set goals and plans for growth.Orders and maintains inventory for all general office and medical supplies, practicing effective cost containment.Manages staff, including interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, coaching, etc. for office and clinical staff.Maintains accurate and legal employee files in compliance with Mount Carmel Medical Group policies.Responds in a timely manner to resolve patient complaints and/or employee conflict.Prepares the annual operational and capital budgets for review by director.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited college/ university, Bachelors preferred; in lieu of formal education, a high school graduate with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a medical practice manager in a high volume physician practice.3 years of supervisory experience required. Experience managing multiple locations preferred. Experience managing multiple physicians in a high volume practice required.Thorough working knowledge of all aspects of medical office operations including data and communication systems.Knowledge of healthcare insurance industry including Medicare, Medicaid Managed Care and other governmental and commercial payors.
