Job Description

AECOM Hunt is seeking a Preconstruction Intern to be based in Dallas, TX. 

This position is expected to begin in Summer 2026. 

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: 

Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.Assist with development of a project prior to on-site construction activitiesCost Estimating – determine quantities utilizing a traditional 2D takeoff tool such as On-Screen Takeoff or 3D model quantities utilizing a program such as Assemble.Schedule Development – review project documentation to determine scope involved to assist in creating a preliminary project schedule.Logistics Planning – study characteristics of the project site to determine best approach to phasing, access, and laydown areas.Follows instructions to accomplish tasks assigned by senior staff.Meets required schedules while producing quality work.Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar field with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.Candidates must have completed 2 years of study in their program.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working for a large general contractor.Previous relevant internship experience.Exposure to other construction-based computer programs.Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, and Outlook), as well as exposure to other construction-based computer programs.
