Pre6 Lecturer

The UCLA Honors Programs unit seeks one lecturer to teach for Winter quarter in Academic Year 2025-26 for an upper division undergraduate seminar as part of the Honors Collegium.
This position includes team-teaching the Honors Collegium 159 seminar, Feminism, Art, and the Metaphors of Trauma, which explores visual metaphors of remembrance and explore, across several centuries, artworks of feminist artists who have been exposed to relentless traumas, sexual violence, casualties of war, racial and social injustice, and trafficking of women and girls. We are specifically seeking a scholar who can provide rich perspectives on the intersection of art, trauma, and feminist theory, with some knowledge and/or training within the fields of psychology. This position will entail team coordination and contribution to the generation of projects, critiques, and grading of student submissions. A key element of the course is a studio component with individual and group projects, designed to gain tangible insights into the emergence of artworks manifested in the wake of tragedy.
UCLA has a diverse student population in one of the more diverse cities in the nation; we particularly seek candidates who have taught similarly diverse students in a major research university.
