Registered Nurse PRN - Pre Admission Testing

PRN Requirements: 3 - 8hr Shifts each month

Baptist Health LaGrange is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Pre-Admission Testing Nurse to join our surgical services team. This position is ideal for a Registered Professional Nurse who excels in patient assessment, education, and coordination of care. Under the supervision of the Director of Surgical Services and Charge RN, the Pre-Admission Testing Nurse is responsible for collecting health information, performing pre-operative assessments, and educating patients prior to surgery. Key duties include conducting comprehensive system evaluations, performing lab tests and EKGs, gathering medical history, obtaining consents, and coordinating necessary medical or anesthesia consults. The nurse develops individualized care plans based on patient age and surgical procedure, and provides procedure-specific education during in-person visits or pre-op phone calls. Additional responsibilities include ensuring abnormal test results are communicated promptly, maintaining accurate documentation, and preparing patients for surgery with clear written instructions. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized unit, ensuring equipment functionality, and adhering to hospital policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates accountability, strong communication skills, and a commitment to performance improvement and patient safety. Active participation in team meetings, training sessions, and quality initiatives is essential, along with a dedication to providing equitable, evidence-based care that respects patient values and preferences.

Requirements:

Graduated from an Accredited Nursing Program

Active RN Licensure in the state of Kentucky

BCLS Required within 90 days of hire
