Practice Administrator - Urology
Description Preferred Experience: A candidate who has worked in a clinic that does procedures - Surgery, Cath Lab, GI, pre and post procedure, or operating rooms Location: UCHealth Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion - Aurora, CO Department: Urology FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Days Pay: $39.32 - $62.90 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience Summary: The Practice Administrator for a Urology and Urogynecology specialty is responsible for the operational, financial, and administrative oversight of a urology medical practice. This role ensures that the practice complies with healthcare regulations, maintains high-quality patient care standards, and operates efficiently in a specialized clinical environment. The administrator works closely with urologists, clinical staff, and billing teams to align practice operations with specialty-specific goals, such as managing high-volume outpatient procedures, navigating complex coding for urologic conditions, and optimizing patient flow for diagnostic and surgical services. Key Responsibilities + Oversee Urology-Specific Revenue Cycle Management:Ensure accurate coding and billing for urology procedures such as cystoscopies, prostate biopsies, and vasectomies, including frequent updates for Medicare and commercial payer policies affecting urology services. + Manage Urodynamic and Procedure Scheduling Efficiency:Streamline scheduling and resource allocation for time-sensitive in-office procedures (e.g., urodynamics, catheter placements, Botox injections for OAB), balancing physician availability and equipment use. + Ensure Compliance with Urology-Related Clinical Guidelines:Implement and monitor compliance programs based on AUA (American Urological Association) best practices, including documentation protocols for prostate cancer follow-ups and BPH treatments. + Oversee Inventory and Sterilization Protocols for Urologic Instruments:Manage procurement, tracking, and sterilization processes for specialty equipment like flexible cystoscopes, resectoscopes, and lithotripsy devices to meet clinical safety and procedural demand. + Coordinate with Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) and Hospitals for Surgical Case Management:Liaise with external facilities to manage OR block times, surgical authorizations, and pre-op/post-op care coordination for complex procedures like TURPs, nephrectomies, or ureteroscopy. + This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option. Requirements: + Minimum Required Education: HS diploma or GED. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in related field + Required Licensure/Certification: Relevant life support certification as determined at position level. + Minimum Experience: 3 years of relevant healthcare leadership experience, completed administrative fellowship, or progressive clinical experience. Preferred: Related clinical experience.
