Are you passionate about cybersecurity and media relations, and excited by the opportunity to show customers how security innovation in the cloud can help their businesses grow faster? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced cybersecurity public relations (PR) professional to help us tell stories that showcase how customers are using our pioneering security products and services to help their organizations be safer and more productive. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of executing media relations strategies for security products within global organizations. This person is able to demonstrate a history of earning the trust of internal and external stakeholders, direct ownership of the programs they’ve run, and a proven track record for generating high-impact security press coverage.
Key job responsibilities
As an AWS Security PR Manager, you will partner closely with product teams and executives to create story opportunities with our customers. You will provide strategic counsel to senior business leaders on a daily basis and dive deep into the latest AWS security technologies to understand their potential for helping customers innovate faster, then execute creative programs that educate and inspire customers.

A day in the life
The AWS PR Manager will:
• Identify and develop creative security story ideas
• Draft compelling external messaging
• Dive deep into new technologies
• Develop and strengthen relationships with customers, journalists, and other external stakeholders
• Create media strategies for high-profile events
• Regularly interact with senior leaders
• Manage complex topics with high-judgment and professionalism
• Work cross-functionally to plan and execute global PR campaigns
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Current experience managing media relationships, and a network of media contacts
- Familiarity with security related technologies and topics

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
