Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Job Description

GENERAL

The PPI engineer is focused on maintaining, developing, and optimizing manufacturing systems and processes. They are responsible for reducing production costs while maintaining or improving the quality of the product or service. The PPI engineer has extensive knowledge and insights into continuous improvement projects. They are responsible for supporting all aspects of process and product improvement engineering, ensuring these processes align with ISO 13485 regulations and assure safety and environmental compliance at the Matamoros facility before city, state, and federal entities.

POSITION DETAIL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.

Leads process improvement initiatives, new product introduction programs, engineering change order processes, and all activities related to product ERP/MRP setup.

Enhances manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

Assures product and process quality by designing and implementing testing methods and continuous improvement strategies.

Provides decision-making information for process and product improvements by calculating production, labor, and material costs.

Prepares business reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends related to process optimization.

Provides engineering information and support by answering questions and requests related to process and product improvements.

Maintains product and company reputation by ensuring compliance with government regulations.

Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, and implementing preventive maintenance strategies.

Completes process and product improvement projects by training and guiding technicians, and leading cross-functional teams.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, seminars, and courses related to process and product improvement.

Works in a team environment, accomplishing any other duties as required by the company.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a similar degree.

Three to five years of working experience in process improvement or related fields.

Experience with Microsoft Products, ERP/MRP Software, and ACAD.

Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
