At the Lafayette Engine Facility, our interns will get to view the day-to-day life of our technicians, who are more than jet engine mechanics.  Lafayette is a teaming site made up of multiple teams that operate as interconnected business units driving their team’s safety, quality, and delivery goals. This structure offers our team members a high degree of flexibility and professional development. In this role you will be based at GE Aerospace’s state of the art facility in Lafayette, Indiana where we support new jet engine assembly for the LEAP and Passport engines as well as overhaul for the LEAP engine. As a Lafayette Intern, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop in unlimited ways.

Roles and Responsibilities

Participate in a flexible workforceWork in a shop environment adhering to all safety policies in placeBe a member of a team & take an active role in team decision-makingProactively reach out to Workstation Owners, KPO team, and project owners to start/complete projects.Design and Implement Continuous Improvement projects ie: kitting, carts etc…

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma / GEDMinimum 3.0 cumulative GPA off a 4.0 scale without roundingDue to access to export-controlled information, you must be one of the following: (1) US Citizen or national; (2) US permanent resident; (3) Person granted refugee status; (4) Person granted asylee status or Beneficiary of legalization through an amnesty program, or (5) other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering Technology (an ABET accredited program) in addition to an FAA Powerplant certificate

Additional Information

Flexible shift assignment (1st or 2nd) based on school scheduleMinimum hours required: 40 hours per month (average 10 hours a week)
