PowerBI Engineer INTL India
Job Description The PI Engineer should possess advanced technical skills in Power BI to design and implement scalable dashboards that support operational visibility across multiple domains. This includes building L1L2 support dashboards that aggregate and visualize incident management metrics (MTTR, volume by category/severity, SLA breaches), leveraging Power Query to ingest data from Jira, ServiceNow, or other ITSM tools and transforming raw issue logs into structured, analyzable formats. They should also be proficient in creating application and platform observability dashboards, integrating data from tools such as Datadog, Splunk, or Azure Monitor via APIs or log exports, and modeling telemetry data to track uptime, latency, error rates, and service health. For financial dashboards, the PI Engineer must be capable of merging project, cost center, and chargeback data from source systems like Oracle, SAP, or spreadsheets, and applying business rules to track budget vs. actuals, forecast burn, and portfolio-level financial performance. This requires strong command of Power Query (M language) for multi-source integration, DAX for dynamic KPI calculation (e.g., YTD spend, run rate, variance), and data modeling practices to support accurate filtering and time intelligence. Additionally, the PI Engineer must understand Jira data models, use JQL for targeted extraction, and configure REST API integrations for real-time refreshes. They should build parameterized, refreshable data pipelines and apply governance logic to flag nonconformant initiatives, incomplete project metadata, or workflow violations. Mastery of cross-filtering behavior, row-level security, and performance tuning is essential to deliver executive-ready dashboards that support decision-making across engineering, operations, and finance domains. Skills and Requirements Required Skills & Experience  5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI dashboard development  Advanced proficiency in SQL (must be a master)  Experience in Power SQL scripting and optimizing views for analytics  Proven background working with observability platforms (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, New Relic)  Solid understanding of data analytics concepts, KPIs, and cross-platform metric correlation  Ability to work closely with machine learning / GenAI engineering teams  Experience designing service-level dashboards for product, engineering, and operations teams  Strong communication and presentation skills to build executive-facing decks  Familiarity with Power Automate or equivalent automation tools (nice to have) Preferred Qualifications  Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)  Exposure to Python or R for data modeling or ML integration  Agile development experience with Jira or similar tool null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
