Job Summary
The Power Platform Developer supports U.S. Army operational readiness by designing and deploying low-code/no-code applications that streamline collaboration, improve data visibility, and enable secure information exchange. This role serves dual purposes supporting the execution of joint military exercises through custom tools and workflows and enabling data-driven decision-making through dashboarding and automation. Solutions are developed within the Microsoft 365 GCC environment, using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI to meet Army governance, compliance, and operational standards.
Strategic Focus
This position bridges digital tool development and operational mission execution.
+ Exercise Support: Build platforms to manage planning products, permissions, task tracking, and reporting for joint exercises.
+ Data Analysis: Create automated dashboards, data pipelines, and visualizations to support readiness tracking, trend analysis, or leadership reporting.
All solutions are expected to follow Army metadata practices, integrate with SharePoint Online (GCC), and be scalable for partner collaboration or future Co-Pilot alignment.
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Support for Joint Military Exercises
+ Develop Power Apps and Automate flows to manage taskers, planning products, and event workflows.
+ Enable partner access (U.S.-only) and secure collaboration with appropriate data classification controls.
+ Provide version control, activity tracking, and document review workflows within SharePoint/Teams-integrated apps.
+ Data Visualization & Automation
+ Build Power BI dashboards that consolidate structured data (Excel, SharePoint lists, Dataverse) for operational status, trends, and decisions.
+ Create flows that automate common staff processes such as notifications, routing, file tagging, and approvals.
+ Partner with KM and Governance teams to ensure metadata-driven structures support both operational use and data analysis.
+ Platform Development & Support
+ Gather requirements from Army staff sections (directorates, operations, and exercise planners) and translate needs into secure, scalable apps.
+ Maintain documentation and user guidance; provide training or walkthroughs to staff and end users.
+ Ensure tools are compliant with Army IT governance, data classification, and retention policy.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree with 0-2 years of experience
+ An active secret security clearance OR the ability to obtain and maintain one.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience developing solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, including:
+ Power Apps (custom forms, role-based views, responsive designs)
+ Power Automate (flows, approvals, connectors with SharePoint/Teams)
+ Power BI (data modeling, DAX, visualization best practices)
+ Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online (GCC), including integration with Power Platform and metadata structuring.
+ Ability to conduct user research, gather requirements, and translate needs into effective technical solutions.
+ Experience supporting U.S. Army staff sections during joint planning or mission execution.
+ Familiarity with Army data environments, including CUI handling, security markings, and document lifecycle management.
+ Knowledge of Dataverse, Microsoft Teams integration, and Power Platform Admin Center.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, content classification policies, and future AI alignment (e.g., Co-Pilot).
+ Power Platform certification (e.g., PL-100, PL-400) or equivalent experience.
+ Understanding of KM principles and Army content governance standards (e.g., AR 25-1, DoDI 5200.48).
