Texas Instruments is looking for an energetic engineer with a passion for process. This position provides the opportunity to drive continual improvement at all levels. Our team is primarily focused on driving improved procedures and processes. We are searching for a self-directed, highly motivated engineer to join our team.
You will be part of a dynamic team responsible in the ramp and production operation for Power Module packages.
This position will fill in the roles of a Die/Component Attach engineer for Power Module devices. In detail, this includes the following key functions:
Process optimizations through setting up, programming, and troubleshooting of SMT machines (eg. epoxy/glue/underfill dispense, screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens and AOI machines).
Ensures quality control by evaluating the quality of finished products, identifying defects, and implementing corrective/preventive solutions.
Hands-on in troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving issues related to SMT equipment, processes, and materials.
Leads process improvement through identifying areas for improvement in the SMT process, implementing changes, and monitoring effectiveness/efficiency.
Identify, characterize, assess and qualify alternate materials, BOMs and suppliers as part of cost initiatives and BCP/sourcing strategy
Creating and maintaining process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, training materials, PFMEA and process control plans.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams (eg. design/packaging, quality, manufacturing, other engineers) to address issues and improve overall manufacturing efficiency.
Training of operators, technicians and engineers on SMT equipment usage, SOP and troubleshooting procedures.
Implementing CIP and initiatives to improve efficiency and eliminate non-value-added process.
Tracks Yield/DPPM/LRR, characterizes, analyzes and dispositions yield issues/defects
Cost owner for process consumables, tracks usage factor and drives cost-saving projects.

**Preferred qualifications:**
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Demonstrates strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
Good time management skills that enable on-time delivery of assigned tasks.
Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment and is highly motivated to take initiative and drive results.
Team player and has the ability to work with different levels of management and external stakeholders and/or suppliers. Demonstrates ability to build strong and influential relationships.
Must possess keen attention to details, capable of multitasking on complex tasks and responsibilities.
Has a broad knowledge and experience on SMT line, power modules packaging or component attach processes.
In depth technical ability to understand material characteristics, perform engineering risk assessments and process change/qualification
Hands-on skills to operate machine and knowledge to down-select materials, process optimization and yield improvement.
Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Can display good data mining and organizational skills with the use of office applications.
Knowledge in data mining, analytical and statistical tools or software (eg. Spotfire, SQL, JMP, etc.) is an advantage.
