Power BI Subject Matter Expert (Remote)
**Overview** GovCIO is currentlyseekinga knowledgeable and collaborativePower BI Subject Matter Expert (SME)to lead the development, optimization, and governance of our enterprise Power BI environment. This role is critical in transforming data into meaningful insights and guiding teams on best practices for data modeling, visualization, and BI strategy.This position is fully remote,locatedin the United States. **Responsibilities** + Generates Ad-Hoc PBI Reports,providestechnical guidance. + Conducts PBI Training (Instructor-led Class Development, Delivery). + Serve as thego-to expert for Power BI, advising on architecture, design standards, governance, and performance optimization. + Design, build, andmaintaindata models,dashboards, andinteractive reports,Power Query, and Power BI Desktop. + Translate complex business requirements into scalable Power BI solutions with intuitive visualizations and actionable metrics. + Providetechnical guidance and mentorshipto report developers, analysts, and business units to foster self-service BI maturity. + Define and enforcePower BI governance policies, including workspace structure, dataset management, and Row-Level Security (RLS). + Collaborate with data engineers and architects ondata sourcing, transformation, and integrationstrategies across platforms (SQL, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, etc.). + Optimizereport and dataset performance through proper modeling, indexing, and usage of incremental refresh and aggregations. + Support licensing, capacity planning, andPower BI Service administration, including gateway configuration and deployment pipelines. + Participate in the Power BI Center of Excellence (COE), knowledge sharing, and enablement efforts across the organization. + Maintain technical documentation, metadata, and a catalog of certified datasets and reports. **Qualifications** **Required Skills and Experience**   + Bachelor'swith 15+ years (orcommensurateexperience) + Expert-levelproficiencywithPower BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling techniques. + Deep understanding ofdata governance, visualization best practices, and BI lifecycle management. + Experience integrating Power BI withAzure services, SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and REST APIs. + Familiarity withPower BI licensing models, workspace roles, and usage monitoring tools. + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences. + Power BI Reporting and ability to train other Power BI staff. **Preferred** **S** **kills and Experience** + Experienceparticipatingin or leading aPower BI COE, support model, or enterprise-wide BI rollout is a plus. **Clearance** **required** + Ability to obtain andmaintaina suitability/Public Trust  \#TAPS **Company Overview** GovCIO is a team of transformers--people who are passionate about transforming government IT.
