**The Job:**
As a Powder Support Associate, you'll be part of our Hampstead Manufacturing team working as an on-employee. You'll get to:
+ Work independently to maintain powder levels in all compaction presses
+ Ensure compliance to all Plant Environmental, Health and Safety policies and EPA and OSHA regulatory requirements
+ Abide by work direction provided by leaders and standard work instructions
+ Read and follow posted equipment operating instructions
+ Use combination of PIV and powder dumper to unload 5000 lb. containers of powdered metal into 400 lbs. barrels
+ Use combination of hoist and drum holler to move 400 lb. powder barrels
+ Ensure 400 lb. powder barrels inventories are labeled with the correct powder type and are made available for shop use to meet production needs
+ Constant monitoring of compaction press powder levels and resupply when required
+ Regularly provide break coverage: primarily unload presses and transfer components to sintering furnaces, other as needed
+ Collect press catch pans and properly dispose of scrap powder daily. Sweep press area floors daily.
+ Operate forklift to assist with breakdown of bulk powder into barrels. Complete when Kanban lane is visibly low
+ Complete powder grade changeovers at presses as necessary, in collaboration with die setters.
+ Occasionally, as required, perform manufacturing operations per component specific operation routing documentation:
+ Unload sintering furnaces and place components in appropriate material storage locations
+ Complete vibratory deburring and drying of components
+ Operate CNC machine (lathe, VMC, hone, drill press, grinder) work cells
+ Load vacuum chambers to oil impregnate components
+ Form boxes and package components
+ Support quality assurance programs using a digitized quality control system and inspection equipment
+ Safely handle equipment weighing up to 33 lbs. to ensure efficient flow of materials throughout plant
+ Meet all process specific Key Performance Indicators to achieve delivery goals
+ Maintain a clean and orderly work area according to 5S principles (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain)
+ Communicate with team members to meet all safety, quality, and delivery goals
+ Perform other duties as assigned

+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Adequate ability to read, write and communicate in English
+ Ability to perform basic math – add, subtract, multiply whole numbers, fractions and decimals
+ Basic mechanical ability, with manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
+ Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge
+ Strong orientation toward safety, quality, and continuous improvement demonstrated by a work history of:
+ Safe performance
+ Accuracy and attention to detail in the work performed
+ Constructive problem solving and suggestions for improvement
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change
+ Understanding and support of company policies and procedures

+ Ability to train for/achieve Sit-down and Stand-up forklift certifications

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is $16.49-$18.29 per hour. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
