Join our company and be part of an innovative team that’s First in Food. Location Description Michael Foods, Inc., located in Bloomfield, Nebraska, is one of our only cage free facilities. The facility is located three miles outside of Northeast Nebraska's busiest community. Bloomfield is a haven for those who prefer small-town life over city living and is located less than 30 miles from recreation areas where you can enjoy fishing, boating, kayaking and camping. Our location produces liquid egg product that is sent to our other facilities for further processing. Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: The production Supervisor will be responsible for coordination and supervision of daily production personnel, and to achieve or exceed production standards of our birds. The role involves planning, directing, and coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for farm production ensuring adherence to safety, quality, standard specifications, and cost. Key skills include people management, operational knowledge, training ability, developing expectations, driving results with data, and follow-through. The Production Supervisor ensures compliance with all company and regulatory processes, including but not limited to Safety, Animal Welfare, Human Resources, and job-specific requirements. They work to continuously improve production best practices through training, standards development, data analysis, escalations, and reporting. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides a safe work environment for all personnel. Responsible for the general safety of your employees. Participates on SRMP safety team. Completion of all safety audits, scans and inspections. Adheres to safe work practices, Animal Care Code of Conduct, and maintains product quality. Reports any conditions affecting food safety, quality, or personnel safety to management. Leads team members to support safety, animal welfare, operations, and personnel development. Ensures a safe and healthy workplace. Keeps management informed about operational, quality, safety issues, employee concerns, and production cost control. Produces the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost consistent with industry standards. Recognizes and takes steps to resolve operating problems to minimize their impact on operations. Requests and directs services of maintenance and other personnel as necessary to achieve the desired level and quality of production and safety. Encourages suggestions from employees to improve production, quality, safety and/or control costs of production. Work with production manager on operational issues concerning quality, safety, costs and/or personnel. Understand and be able to complete bird health tasks including posting, sample taking, communication with the lab, etc. Always ensures regulatory compliance. Cooperates with all departments to ensure a coordinated work relationship always exists. Enforces company policies in a fair and consistent manner. Maintains consistent communications and participates in and leads meetings as required. Leads and/or participates in continuous improvement initiatives. Develops self and team members' skill sets to continuously improve work standards and performance. Keeps accurate and up-to-date records (i.e. timekeeping, production records, absentee records, etc.). Minimal travel required. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. 2- 3 years supervisory experience preferred SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team building skills. Ability to prioritize and follow directions with little/no supervision. Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multi-functional tasks. Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when required. Bi-lingual is a plus Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations. Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in various formats. Ability to learn and utilize various technology systems. A valid driver’s license
