Pouch Assistant (Full Time) - Evening Shift

ePac Flexible Packaging is a rapidly growing, digital printing company with locations across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Indonesia. ePac’s mission is to provide locally-based consumer packaged goods companies the ability to compete with large brands with great packaging.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Pouch Assistant works with the Pouch Operator to convert high quality pouches for ePac and will perform various manual and mechanical duties to provide assistance in the set up and operation of our pouch machines.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 Package finished product at one of several workstations as assignedChange rolls and cut out splicesCheck pouch quality continually during production runMaintain Quality control check sheet, data entry, effective run rate, production and waste reportsMake packing cartons and carton labels as required by the Work Order.Follow all instructions on work order and S.O.P. and the established material handling procedureAssist Pouch Operator with Pouch Machine set up and runInform Pouch Operator of any defective material, maintenance issues and safety issuesStage proper equipment and secondary packaging (boxes, pallets, labels, etc) necessary for production jobs based on production scheduleClean and maintain equipment in preparation for next production runTrash and trim removal and production site clean upRecommend improvement of production in terms of efficiency and workflowObserve & follow safety / quality / SQF regulatations.Support other parts of the operations including press assistant, slitting, and lamination as and when requiredOther duties as assigned by management and supervisors.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.High School Diploma or equivalentMust be flexible in work schedule & shifts

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is around, moving mechanical parts and vibrationAbility to lift up to 50 lbsePac believes in a collaborative and cross trained workforce and encourages all employees to learn all facets of production. This role will have the ability to learn and train on operational functions throughout the plants.
