Posting Payment Specialist
Description We are looking for a skilled Posting Payment Specialist to support the accurate and timely processing of payments within a healthcare billing environment. As part of our team in Burr Ridge, Illinois, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of accounts receivable records, reconciling accounts, and handling high-volume payment batches. This is a Contract position ideal for professionals with experience in medical payment posting and a keen eye for detail. Responsibilities: • Post daily insurance and patient payments, including electronic fund transfers (EFTs), checks, and credit card transactions, with precision. • Process and reconcile high-volume payment batches to ensure accuracy and efficiency. • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to verify payment amounts, adjustments, and compliance with payer guidelines. • Identify and address payment discrepancies, underpayments, and denials, routing issues to the appropriate team for resolution. • Balance daily deposits while maintaining accurate documentation for audit and record-keeping purposes. • Apply contractual adjustments in accordance with payer agreements and organizational policies. • Collaborate with billing and collections teams to resolve posting-related issues and discrepancies. • Uphold confidentiality standards for patient and financial information, adhering to healthcare regulations and policies. The salary range for this position is $23/hr to $25/hr. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in payment posting within a medical billing or healthcare setting. • Familiarity with high-volume payment processing, handling 1,000+ payments weekly. • Strong understanding of medical billing practices, payer guidelines, and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs). • Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Excel. • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. • Effective communication and collaboration skills to liaise with internal teams.
