The Jones Lab is developing next-generation covalent chemical biology with the objective of expanding the druggable proteome. We seek a highly motivated individual to join our collaborative research efforts as a POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW who will work on chemical biology projects directed towards the development of novel therapeutic modalities.

We are based at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Longwood Center, and we have access to state-of-the-art facilities for chemistry, biophysics, biochemistry, structural biology, and mass spectrometry.

Responsibilities Design and synthesize chemical probes for target validation and chemoproteomics studiesHelp develop and apply biochemical, biophysical, and metabolic stability assaysScreen compounds; analyze and interpret dataApply data to the iterative design of optimized chemical probes suitable for cellular and in vivo pharmacological studiesMaintain accurate lab records and documentationContribute to publications and grant proposals.Stay current with scientific advances in the fields of chemical biology and medicinal chemistry, and apply emerging techniques and insights to their own research Qualifications PhD degree in chemical biology or a related disciplineStrong background in synthetic organic chemistry, to enable delivery of chemical probesExpert in chemical biology techniques used to assess interactions between proteins and small moleculesExperience in biochemical/biophysical assay developmentExperience in chemoproteomics is desirableExcellent communication and presentation skillsEvidence of consistent scientific innovation. Proven track record of publications in peer reviewed journalsAble to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environmentExcellent organizational and prioritization skills. Strong attention to detailAble to collect and analyze experimental data, prepare research publications, and communicate results
