The post-doctoral research fellow will execute research projects under the supervision of a principal investigator, with a focus on developing skills to transition the trainee from mentored research to independent research This. position will support research projects in varied areas of biology and biomedical or related scientific fields. These responsibilities include assistance in putting together research protocols and database build. Constructs, assembles and operates equipment as requested. Research is clinically focused with abstracting information from clinical records required. Records and evaluates data in accordance with methods requested. Our group has two areas of research focus: 1) imaging (MR/PET) biomarkers of response to oncologic therapy, and 2) epidemiologic cohort studies of women with cervical cancer living with HIV in Zambia. We have a specific interest in finding an individual who is particularly interested in global health and building their expertise in this area.
*LEARNING OBJECTIVES*
• Perform experiments in support of clinical research projects including abstracting data from Epic and coding into redcap or similar databases, writing protocols, manuscripts.
• Order centralized supplies, monitor expenses, and communicate cost-effective alternatives.
• Organize and develop training to ensure that research group members have current knowledge of specialized procedures.
• Help orient and train new staff or students with possible supervision of younger trainees on projects that the postdoc is working on.
• Functions in a separate and independent manner in the design and initiation of research projects. Presents findings of research projects to professional groups and prepares scientific documents for publication.
• Monitors and assists with management of budgets associated with assigned research projects and protocols.
• Establishes, cultivates and maintains working relationships and contacts with internal and community constituents, healthcare facilities and other entities to develop and facilitate collaborative partnerships.
• Interfaces with and supports community advisory group/s and other collaborators.
• Directs efforts for engaging community members, including coalition building, facilitating advisory groups, recruiting research participants, and developing partnerships for projects.
• Perform analyses using Stata or R or equivalent
• Other duties may also be assigned

Education Required: MD, PhD or equivalent doctorate
Experience Required: Experience in scientific or experimental research work doctoral degree
Preferred: With preferred degree, two or more years of required experience
