Ph.D., M.D. or Doctoral equivalent in any field. Scientific research experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position and is not expected to be a permanent position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Investigate the biochemistry and cellular mechanisms for the formation and toxicity in protein aggregates.
Apply biochemical, biophysical, immunological, molecular methods to characterize amyloidogenic proteins and aggregates polymorphs
Investigate the diversity of the brain-derived oligomeric amyloid polymorphs in tau aggregation and the mechanism of their toxicity and spreading in cell models, primary cultures, and animal models
Perform experiments, analyze data and results, prepare figures, write manuscripts for publication, and supervise other lab members, as needed
