Postal Specialist - Department: Galveston Supply Chain Operations **Galveston, Texas, United States** **New** Supply Chain Management UTMB Health Requisition # 2504838 **Minimum Qualifications:** High School diploma and one-year of related experience. Must be capable of demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job in a post-offer employment test as administered by UTMB Rehab Services, to include the ability to lift up to 63 lbs., floor to knuckle, and frequent bending, standing, and walking. **Job Summary:** Perform a variety of clerical and manual duties associated with the operation of the institutional-wide postal service. **Job Duties:** + Perform various clerical duties such as sorting, distributing, collecting, and metering postal materials in accordance with established procedures and applicable Federal postal regulations. + Operate postage meter machine to stamp outgoing letters; weight and stamp packages; sectionalize outgoing mail according to destination. Maintain daily record of all metered mail by the department; record registered and insured mail. Unload incoming supplies and material; verify the number of received goods against invoices; notify supervisor of discrepancies. + Deliver mail to Medical Center patients and pick up outgoing mail. + Maintain clean and orderly conditions in assigned areas. + Responds to customers’ (hospital staff and physicians) requests in a professional helpful and timely manner in person and on the telephone and provides directions and other helpful information to visitors and others while performing distribution duties. + Follows departmental/hospital policies and procedures, rules, and regulations. + Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure. **Salary Range:** Actual salary commensurate with experience. **Work Schedule:** 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. **Equal Employment Opportunity** UTMB Health strives to provide equal opportunity employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by institutional policy or by federal, state or local laws unless such distinction is required by law.
