Summary You will serve as a POSTAL OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center of NAVSUP FLC YOKO REG . The location for this position is Garden Island, Australia. Responsibilities You will administer the fleet or consolidated and region official and registered mail program IAW laws, statues, policies, and regulations from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), Department of Defense and Naval Supplies and Systems Command. You will review higher level policies and procedures for implementation and keeps junior analysts informed of changes and requirements. You will assist the Regional Postal Manager to conduct periodic training to ensure that all personnel who prepare, classify, and input mail into tracking systems are in compliance with current regulatory requirements. You will participate in all regions official and registered mail discussions with other DOD, Navy, and Federal Agency customers. You will ensure the proper use of official mail resources by establishing and maintaining controls on postal/mail expenditures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Overseeing the timely receipt, proper distribution and dispatch of US Mail and other postal services to include postal operations support, postal inspection participation and policy recommendation for postal training to ensure agencies comply with postal regulations (e.g. USPS, DOD, DON). Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily. Military spouses and family members who are appointed may not extend longer than 2 months following the transfer of the sponsor from the commuting area of the foreign duty station; 2 months beyond the separation of the appointee's sponsor; or any time beyond the time employee ceases to be a family member.
