Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and creative Post-Doctoral Fellow to join our Bacterial Disease Research team in Ames, IA. As a Post-Doctoral Fellow, you will be a primary driver of an innovative research project on using microbial genetics and molecular biology techniques to manipulate bacterial genomes. These approaches are generally expected to optimize safety and/or efficacy profiles of exploratory vaccine candidates. We are especially interested in candidates with demonstrable experience working with and manipulating obligate intracellular bacterial pathogens. Experience with bacterial diseases of animals and with vaccine design is also desirable. Post-Doctoral Fellows are expected to independently conduct research and publish findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
