The focus of the lab is GJA1-20k with application to Connexin43 trafficking, mitochondrial biology, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy. Background in basic cell biology as well as animal studies is preferred. The applicant must have a strong interest in pursuing an academic career and in therapeutic development. Intellectual creativity, ability to work independently and mentor lab technicians in support of the projects, and an interest in an academic faculty position after postdoctoral training are all preferred.
