We are seeking someone to join London Portfolio Services at Director level. The Portfolio Services team sits within IM Operations and is responsible for providing support across MSIM's product and vehicle range, with a focus on those accounts managed from London. The team is the primary operations point of contact for the investment teams and covers a variety of functions ranging from cash management and trade placement to managing client flows and client services.
Several core operations functions are outsourced to State Street Investment Manager Solutions (IMS). The team works closely with State Street IMS to ensure all deliverables are being met.
Morgan Stanley Investment Management's product range is continually evolving into new product and strategy areas, demanding ever changing infrastructure and solutions. The individual will be required to contribute to discussions to ensure that the appropriate support models are in place.
This is a Team Specialist position at Director level within the London Portfolio Services team.

What you'll do in the role:
-> Member of the portfolio services team, primarily supporting the International Equity product
> Proactively provide day-to-day support to Morgan Stanley investment teams and traders
> Responsible for oversight of core operations functions that are outsourced to State Street IMS (eg. transaction management, reconciliations, overdraft monitoring)
> Positively contribute to the client experience both directly and indirectly. Provide day-to-day support to both clients and internal stakeholders by taking ownership of queries and working with various teams to resolve eg. investment teams, CRMs, legal, compliance, FCG
> Oversight of the portfolio services and reporting teams in India and ensuring our oversight obligations are met from an audit perspective
> Use strong business sense and judgment to identify potential risk areas; making appropriate recommendations and highlighting those risks via the appropriate escalation channels
> Assist in the integration of new client accounts and products.
> Involvement in local and global projects
> Partner with internal business units including IT to deliver tactical and strategic solutions as and when required by the business
> Working proactively with counterparts on a global basis, in making recommendations for process improvement and consistency.
What you'll bring to the role:
> A working background in investment management operations is preferable for this position, and candidates should have experience with functions such as account events (onboarding/terminations), client reporting, separate account client flow management along with a general understanding of core functions such as transaction management, reconciliations, corporate actions and claims.
> Proven ability to interact and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and portfolio managers
> Knowledge of the custody environment
> Strong business sense and sound judgment
> Ability to understand and identify risk
- At least 5-8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
