PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To lead a portfolio of profitable Beer & Cider brands that delight consumers and deliver sustainable commercial growth. This role is responsible for developing and executing brand strategies focused on profitability, brand equity, innovation, and beyond-the-bottle development. The Portfolio Manager will leverage deep consumer and market insights to drive brand performance, ensuring all marketing activities are rooted in data-driven decision-making and aligned with competitive dynamics. The role also oversees brand implementation across markets, ensuring consistency, excellence, and impact.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
Honours or Postgraduate qualification in Marketing or a Commercial discipline. 12+ years of relevant marketing experience in FMCG, ideally across multiple categories/ multi-national business. Proven track record in brand strategy, innovation, and execution. Strong understanding of the FMCG value chain and commercial levers. Proven experience in forecasting and trend analysis. Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills. Mastery in strategic planning, project management, and consumer insights. Experience in digital marketing and leading creative development with agencies. Additional qualifications in Marketing or Trade Marketing will be an added advantage Valid Code B driving license
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY
Develop and execute brand strategies across the Beer & Ciders portfolio, focusing on profitability, brand equity, and innovation. Lead category strategy development and craft long-term brand roadmaps (3–5 years), including positioning, creative platforms, innovation pathways, and market prioritisation. Drive consumer-centric marketing by embedding deep market and consumer insights into all brand activities. Own end-to-end brand performance, including digital, innovation, and execution, while managing agency relationships and A&P budgets. Shape consumer experiences by developing toolkits, creative guardrails, and brand homes that bring the brand to life across all touchpoints. Manage budgets and resources to optimise ROI and marketing effectiveness. Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and a culture of excellence. Ensure alignment with commercial teams on demand planning and execution to support brand objectives.
