Portfolio Manager, High Yield

The high yield Portfolio Manager (PM) will engage in the day-to-day management of all global and US high yield, and high-income strategies within HSBC Global Asset Management. The candidate will operate as a core team member within the high yield portfolio management team, to implement strategy and credit specific ideas into portfolios as part of the investment process. This will include and not limited to, execution of daily flows by working in conjunction with the trading team, liaise with credit research analysts to discuss relative value, credit positioning, sector position and other industry related topics, work with product specialists team to assist on any client requests, and other sales and marketing needs, and maintain dialogue with operations, performance and other support teams to ensure smooth running of accounts.

As our Assistant Portfolio Manager, High Yield you will:

Execution of credit and trade ideas in conjunction with trading team across various different accounts and strategiesMaintenance of daily flows and cash management, as well as monitor and maintain exposures, risk metrics, sector allocations, etc that fit within credit and macro framework, and adjust accordinglyOrganize, produce materials and ability to run credit meetings, including industry sector reviews with credit research, relative value discussion session, participate in deep dive credit discussions, amongst others within the investment processContribute to global credit platform in highlighting leverage finance trends to broader investment audience, and take macro viewpoints from global colleagues into consideration for high yield strategiesResponsible in analyzing, organizing and maintaining portfolio and market data used by the high yield and credit team for portfolio construction and decision making purposesIndependently produce relative value decisions, trade ideas, or portfolio construction viewpoints that will help achieve investment and performance goals within the high yield and high income strategiesObserve and study market commentary, macro trends, research opinions, and other relevant news and metrics, and decipher relevant information that will be key in formulizing portfolio positioning and viewsSupport multiple senior PMs on both daily activities and multiple strategic projects

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $160,300.00 and $240,400.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Highly analytical and data drive in reviewing portfolio and risk metrics of high yield and high income strategies; risk management experience is a plusAbility for idea generation, and to make investment decisions at both a macro and portfolio level, as well as, at a credit and issuer level; credit research or credit assessment experience is a plusProven interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative and team based environmentAttention to detail, and strong aptitude to identify and minimize risk to both portfolio investment, and business risksStrong quantitative skills, and willingness and self-motivated to adapt and improve investment process and reporting. Advanced excel required and intermediate programming/phyton skill preferredUndergraduate degree and investment experience; MBA/CFA is a plusExperience with portfolio and risk management tools, such as Bloomberg, Aladdin would be strongly preferredExperience managing portfolios under various guidelines and min 5-year relevant work experience
