Portfolio Analyst

Classification: Exempt/Full-time – Remote or Hybrid

Reports to: Portfolio Modeling Manager

Travel: 0-10%

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000

Location: Hybrid or Remote

Role overview

DUAL North America is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to support the Modeling division.

At DUAL, Analysts play a key supportive role in business decision-making by transforming complex insurance data into clear, actionable insights. You will work across teams to ensure data accuracy, streamline modeling workflows, and produce meaningful reporting to guide underwriting and operational strategies.

Supporting the Portfolio Modeling team, you will prepare and input exposure data into various modeling systems. You will perform monthly portfolio analysis and collaborate with DUAL divisions proactively suggest portfolio management metrics. This role is key to providing timely, data-driven insights for effective risk selection.

Role responsibilities

Perform monthly validation, reconciliation, portfolio analysis, and reporting for all catastrophe modeling clients of DUAL North America.

Lead integration of DUAL’s portfolio modeling into analysis and reporting workflows.

Collaborate with DUAL divisions to standardize and prepare data for catastrophe modeling software.

Conduct monthly portfolio analyses using modeling tools and develop automated reporting processes via SQL.

Engage with DUAL teams to understand reporting needs and recommend portfolio management metrics and strategies.

Generate and distribute monthly reports.

Support new business by compiling data and building notional portfolios.

Communicate with reinsurance brokers to explain data and modeling methodologies.

Provide backup support to the Portfolio Modeling Manager.

Contribute to special projects as needed.

Key requirements

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 3 to 5 years Insurance experience

Holds a working knowledge of insurance terminology and data storage systems; able to extract and translate data into reports

Experience working with portfolio-modeling platforms (AIR, RMS) and Microsoft SLQ Server database

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) 

Must manage multiple, varying assignments daily and properly evaluate their importance to complete assigned tasks accurately and on time

Self-motivated and demonstrating attention to detail with an ability to learn quickly

Ability to follow policies and procedures and work independently for extended periods

Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as general business understanding

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, with occasional movement in the office to access cabinets and equipment
