Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Portfolio Management for ~10-15 Existing Borrowers:
Monitor a borrower's financial performance trends and liquidity via the review and entry of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements into the bank’s internal portfolio management softwareReview quarterly compliance certificates to ensure accuracy and completionEngage with borrower CFOs (or similar position) to get more qualitative updates on performanceListen to annual or other interim lender update calls and ask questions, when appropriateMaintain borrower credit filesEnsure appropriate borrower risk ratingPrepare internal quarterly, semi-annual and/or annual review memosPresent internal portfolio review memos to senior credit executives at semi-annual review meetingsWork with the underwriting deal team to execute all amendments/waivers for existing borrowersNew Deal Underwritings:
In time and when appropriate, provide support on new deals in the following capacities:Shadow deal teams on new deal underwritings and taking detailed notes on all diligence callsPreparation of credit approval memos and modeling projected financial performanceBecome familiar with related deal credit documentationEducation, Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications:
A BS/BA, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or MathematicsPrior internship or work experience in an Accounting/Finance/Banking-related positionThe ability to answer unstructured business questions and work independently to drive tasks to completionStrong analytical skills and proficiency with financial statementsHigh level of attention to detailAbility to work well with others and on teamsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentSuperior written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPointOther Desired/Beneficial Qualifications:
Internship working on leveraged loan transactionsInternship in the any of the BIS group’s subsectors at an investment bank or other institutionFinancial modeling experienceThe estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 USD to $95,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
