Population Development Specialist- DH (Harvest activities)

We have an excellent opportunity for a Population Development Specialist DH (Harvest activities)-to join our team in Arica, Chile!

The Population Development Specialist DH (Harvest activities) will be accountable for the execution, planning and tracking of greenhouse activities in Arica Research Center. At the site, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating harvest activities, note taking, quality control, workload planning, personnel logistics and interact with Operations, IPM & scouting teams. In addition, the position will follow the program´s supervisor instructions to achieve planned outcome of assigned tasks, promoting at the same time a safe working place.

 Responsibilities

Perform field and greenhouse activities (related to corn harvest, note taking, quality control, workload planning, personnel logistics) according to instructions and protocols. Support other activities when necessary.

Plan and coordinate activities accordingly, including supply purchases, optimize resources and achieve production goals following protocols and safety requirements.

Generate a collaborative interaction with other areas to ensure expected crop health, climate control, nutrition balance and field performance rates.

Perform and verify, on a regular basis, fulfillment of the EHS&S standards, identify potential risk on performed activities, promote safety procedures and Core Values.

Lead and supervise the team in charge, establishing goals and objectives aligned with the site's strategy.

Supervise temporal and full-time personnel in an effective and efficient way according to required stated metrics of the process supervised.

Take proper actions in agreement with execution leaders, to assure good agronomic practices are followed (take decisions, prioritize).

Identify the training and development needs of the team.

Requirements

MS University degree, University degree or highly technical related experience on Agriculture or Science required

Strong leadership and people management skills. Proven ability to work well with a wide range of people and different levels of workload. 

Mid to advance computer skills

Require excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, fluency in written and spoken English is desired. Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.

Adaptable to changes and with innovation skills, proactive seeking process improvements.

Minimum of 3-5 years in research experience in Agriculture/Science in corn

Strong leadership and people management skills. Proven ability to work well with a wide range of people and different levels of workload. 

Availability for 100% on site work.
