POOL ASSISTANT MANAGER

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

Provide friendly, fast, and helpful service to all guests and team members in the rooftop pool area. Assist in managing overall front-of-house operations at the pool, ensuring a unique and engaging guest experience that reflects the luxury and energy of our rooftop environment. Oversee back-of-house operations related to the pool bar and kitchen, maintaining culinary standards, inventory controls, cleanliness, and safety protocols. Assist in managing budgets, analyzing profit and loss statements, labor reports, and supporting promotional planning for the pool venue. Ensure the pool area consistently meets or exceeds all sanitation and safety requirements, both for food service and public health regulations. Implement and maintain a consistent sequence of service standards for the poolside venue, ensuring guests receive attentive, timely, and high-quality service. Support hiring, training, coaching, and development of pool team members including bartenders, servers, cooks, and attendants; participate in performance management as needed. Assist in scheduling, assigning, and supervising team member duties to meet operational needs and deliver high levels of guest satisfaction throughout all pool operating hours. Monitor and evaluate team member productivity and performance, offering coaching and feedback to drive ongoing improvement. Help plan and implement team member recognition and incentive programs specific to pool operations. Participate in interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and training new hires for the pool area. Assist with payroll, timekeeping, and attendance tracking for pool staff. Support administration of disciplinary actions, including documentation and post-disciplinary follow-up. Assist in completing accounting processes for revenue, inventory, and expenses related to the pool’s F&B operations. Contribute to long- and short-term planning efforts related to staffing, programming, and budgeting for the pool. Make recommendations on changes to procedures or staffing models based on seasonal trends, events, and business volume.

 

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Must be at least 21 years of age. Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or a combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hospitality, preferably in a pool, bar, or resort setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to understand, prepare, and analyze department budgets, capital expenditures, and P&L statements. Hotel or resort experience strongly preferred.
