05201 Polysomnography Tech STRHS-Lawrenceburg Job Description Job Summary Provides care for patients undergoing sleep studies and sleep disorder treatment. Reports to: Director of Respiratory Therapy FLSA: Non-exempt Essential Functions Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test. Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures. Performs testing and any additional testing required for sleep disorder that is noted. Scores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies. Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources. Prepares, calibrates, repairs, and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements. Maintains proper supplies to care for patients. Nonessential Functions • Perform other duties as assigned.• Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.• Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.• Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.• Accepts all call schedule as directed.• Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code. Job Requirements Minimum EducationGraduate of a Program in Discipline preferred Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
