Summary THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is part of the IN 122nd Fighter Wing, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number D2499P01. Responsibilities Incumbent may full powers of apprehension and detention, which entails carrying a firearm, mirandizing suspects, preserving evidence, and testifying in court as it pertains to enforcing regulations within assigned jurisdiction. Conducts investigations of crimes and complaints covering a wide range of subjects and allegations that are not within the scope of Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) Serves as the primary command and control (C2) function for all Integrated Defense forces. Conducts Investigations/Surveillance. Performs as Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC) Controller. Performs emergency response and incident command and control. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position is INDEFINITE NTE 24 months, with possible extension up to 60 months. MILITARY GRADES: E3 through E6 COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 3P051 The policy to have a compatible MOS/AFSC has been suspended. When reinstated, you will have one year to meet the qualifications of this position or meet the requirements in the guidance set by NGB. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level which includes experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws. If approved, the memorandum will be returned to you and then submitted with your application. Education Additional Information This position does not meet the definition of law enforcement officer (LEO) and is excluded from coverage as LEO for purposes of the Federal Employment Retirement System-Base Annuity 1A W 5 CFR, Part 842, Subpart H. The incumbent of this position is required to meet certain physical requirements and is required to provide a copy of their current AF Form 422 or AF Form 469 annually. The maximum entry age for DoD Law Enforcement is 37. An individual not appointed by the last day of the month in which the individual becomes age 37 will not be originally appointed or assigned to these positions. Must meet medical requirements for AFSC 3P Career Field. Must possess a valid state driver's license to operate government motor vehicles (GMV) in accordance with AFI 24-301, Vehicle Operations. This announcement follows the Fair Chance Act (FCA).
