OUR TEAM
Our Above Water Systems team provides engineering & maintenance services to Royal Australian Navy vessels and commercial ships. We’re proud to bolster Australia’s sovereign capability through operational support to our defence partners. With ongoing training programs and a team of over 500, our people have room to grow and develop an impactful career with us. Located centrally in Woolloomooloo's Garden Island, on Gadigal land.
This is a two-year fixed term opportunity based at our Garden Island, NSW site where you will develop foundational skills in the function of a PMO and experience in bid/project management. You will play a part in ensuring the RAN and our other partners meet their objectives.
As part of your formal studies, gain practical experience through work experience. This Traineeship Program involves a rotation across PMO functions - Planning & Scheduling, Contract and Subcontract Management, Bids & Estimates, Project Management and Production Management.
In this role you will have the opportunity to gain training and experience in:
Help manage projects and production tasks during the execution phase.Learn to use Primavera software to create and update project timelines, bids, and work plans.Support the team with contracts for AWS bids and projects, including performance-based and collaborative agreements.Help prepare and organize bids for both internal and external clients.Assist in identifying and coordinating project risks.Help analyse staffing needs and provide insights for AWS workforce planning.About You
Study for a TAFE or Tertiary qualification in Project ManagementWell-developed communication skills with the ability to work in a team environmentDemonstrate computer literacy including knowledge of standard Microsoft Office suiteAble to treat new situations and change as opportunities for learning and growth.Committed to complying with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental policies and proceduresAUSTRALIAN DEFENCE ROLES & SECURITY
