PMO Lead - Engineering
A high-growth tech company is looking for a PMO Lead to build the foundation of its Engineering and R&D program operations. This is not a traditional program manager role it's an opportunity to architect the first-ever PMO structure within a complex, fast-moving engineering environment.

You'll partner closely with executive leadership to assess current capabilities, design a scalable operating model, and define success metrics, tools, and team structure. The ideal candidate brings sharp analytical skills, people intuition, and the ability to turn ambiguity into action. This is a high-impact role for a builder, advisor, and operator.

Key Responsibilities

- Build the PMO from scratch: Define what program excellence looks like across R&D and engineering

- Conduct a gap analysis on the existing team of engineering PMs (5 total) to assess capabilities, alignment, and role clarity

- Develop a north star vision for program delivery and determine if the current team structure can support that vision

- Create scalable processes, workflows, and tooling infrastructure for project tracking, execution, and reporting (e.g., Jira, Confluence, etc.)

- Partner with the Chief of Staff and senior engineering leaders to design short- and long-term operating models

- Drive cross-functional alignment with internal stakeholders across IT, security, and product

- Provide clear recommendations on organizational fit, delivery expectations, and gaps all tailored to the companys specific needs

- Champion change management initiatives and ensure adoption of new tools and systems
