PM&S Buyer (Mechanical & Technical Services Buyer)

**Job Purpose and Impact**
The Mechanical & Technical Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and managing contracts for mechanical, technical equipment, and plant services. This role ensures cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality, compliance, and timely availability of goods and services to support smooth manufacturing operations.
**Key Accountabilities**
Procurement & Sourcing
+ Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for mechanical, technical, and engineering services.
+ Manage procurement of spare parts, plant maintenance services, utilities, and technical equipment etc.
+ Ensure compliance with company standards, safety, legal and sustainability requirements.
Vendor Management
+ Develop and maintain strong relationships with service providers and OEMs.
+ Monitor vendor performance, quality, and delivery timelines.
+ Resolve vendor-related issues, disputes, or escalations.
Cost & Contract Management
+ Negotiate contracts, service agreements, and pricing terms to achieve cost savings.
+ Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements.
+ Ensure contracts meet legal, commercial, and technical requirements.
Plant Support
+ Partner with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to understand technical requirements.
+ Support CAPEX and OPEX procurement for plant upgrades, shutdowns, and preventive maintenance.
+ Provide timely supply of critical spares and services to minimize downtime.
Process & Compliance
+ Ensure procurement activities align with company policies and audit requirements.
+ Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor contracts, and purchase orders.
+ Support digital procurement tools, e-sourcing, and continuous process improvements.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
+ 8-10 years of procurement experience in mechanical, engineering, or technical services (manufacturing industry preferred).
+ Strong knowledge of plant maintenance services, spare parts, and equipment categories.
+ Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
+ Experience with ERP systems (SAP) and e-sourcing platforms, spend analysis.
